Review: The Complete Ragdoll Keepers Handbook

The Complete Ragdoll Keepers Handbook by Drew Pilton

I've started by reviews off with the Big Kahuna of Ragdoll Cat Books. The Complete Ragdoll Keepers Handbook is, by far, the definitive book on Ragdoll cats. Drew Pilton has compiled a book from expert sources all over the world. The aim of this book is to provide a comprehensive guide.

What we've ended up with is a book on a variety of subjects from the history of Ragdoll cats (which could be possibly classified as an X-File), to behavoir problems and modifications, and diet. The list of subjects is comprehensive. The author has obviously taken time and care to compile his sources, and it shows in the end product.

As to the book itself, Drew Pilton has steered clear of complicated language in his approach, while still managing to maintain a detailed level of information. The book has not been dumbed down and for that reason it can be used by new Ragdoll cat owners, with their first kitten, or by more advanced owners who wish to know more.

I can understand why this book is so highly regarded after reading it. The book is a must for all owners of Ragdoll cats, but especially for those new owners who are a little apprehensive.

Rating: 4.5/5
