Ragdoll Cat Secrets, by Ben Harper, is one of the definitive guides on Ragdoll Cats. This book was written by a retired vet, and that alone gives it advantages over books that are written by enthusiasts or even breeders. Harper's right: There really is not that much breed specific information on Ragdoll Cats.
The great thing about this book is that Harper hasn't simply relied on his first hand knowledge: he has consulted breeders and other vets as well. His experience as a vet means that he has been able to cherry pick the real vital information on the breed and discard the information that is largely irrelevant.
He has provided a lot of information that's available in the previous book, but in a different style and manner. As well as the obvious information Harper delves more into areas such as behaviour problems, which believe it or not Ragdoll cats do have, and how to choose a kitten and what breeders and pet shops don't tell you.
He does all of this in an easy to read manner. It's a very good book for the price, and I think what makes it most valuable is that the information has been provided by a professional. If you have a Ragdoll cat or are thinking of getting one, then Ragdoll Cat Secrets is definitely a book to look up.
